What passes for normality

Life is very nearly back to normal now, except for the Christmas tree in the sitting room and the remaining rump of turkey plus sundry smoked salmon related items in the fridge. Father-in-law has gone home (due to the traumatic arrival of snow - so unexpected in winter, one cannot but sympathise with the railway companies - we drove him thither, which meant long queues of (mad) shoppers heading for Bluewater).

Kudos to me for the most laid-back preparation of Christmas dinner my F-i-L had ever witnessed. Hah.

So, what now? Finish reading SeSa stories (new stories! joy!) and start playing with my new camera, I guess. And learn my words, though the remnants of cough still plaguing me mean I probably won't be able to sing properly at tomorrow's rehearsal.

Gosh. How boring am I!

Yay for a new camera! Is it digital?

Yep! A dinky little Olympus somethingorother. I shall have to prod bun18 out of bed to teach me how to use it (she got one for her birthday). It has snown, just enough to be pretty, so I must go for a fanaticizing walk and maybe take some pics.

I need to finish the SeSa stories too, that is once I've made a dent on the mess which is my house.

My house is remarkably tidy, thanks to (a) my requiring (in that maternal tone which brooks no argument) my brats to hoover the place, and (b) my husband's, erm, peculiar habit of pouncing on all stray bits of wrapping paper, Christmas cracker debris etc, and removing all the sellotape before putting it neatly into the recycling receptacle. In fact, the only seriously untidy room is the conservatory, which houses my arty/crafty stuff and has been augmented by more pretty wrapping paper...
