There's an awesome post on Captain Awkward, sparked by a letter from an extrovert who is *dreading* the social distancing. Loads of really cool ideas in comments for ways to keep up both human contact and your spirits. Here (second question, though the first one is also a goody).

I'm noticing my lack of chorus most of all, and I don't think there's an online substitute for that, but as I have Beast, and also FIL, in the house, I'm not hurting for social contact. But there are lots of good notions in the comments.

Yeah! I saw that yesterday and thought, yep, not a major change in my life either.Though it is just possible I may need to raid Hobbycraft yet.

I'm usually very introverted, but I am missing my Tuesday nights at Biddys and I'm sad about losing plans I had that would have involved meeting friends over the next two months. And I confess to being anxious about the idea that I don't know when I'm going to see my parents again, but given that the National Trust has opened all their parkland to people for free, I might suggest to them that we go for a walk and keep physical distance just so we can see each other.

I miss my outings, too. I phoned Biddy's and they said it wasn't happening, which didn't surprise me, but I do so enjoy my knit and share. And chorus, of course. And yes, the loss of so many long-standing forward plans is a real bummer. Even worse, the uncertainty of it all. I do not do well with uncertainty, and after three and a half years of Brexit uncertainty, now this.

Having a nice walk in beautiful grounds is an excellent idea, and I should think will cheer everyone's spirits considerably.

I didn't even call, honestly - because I'm still going into the office every day, I didn't want to go in case I'm already infected and asymptomatic. I did start a Ravelry group for us, though, and there's a chat room in there we can use. I'll be buying vouchers to support Biddy's as well, plus they're delivering cake by mail now.

Uncertainty is what has me climbing the walls. It does not suit my control freakery one bit.

Ah, I did not know Ravelry had chat room facilities, I shall have to investigate. And perhaps order some Biddy's cake, too. We can be civilised in our own homes. And supporting the businesses we care about is also a very good thing. It's horrifying to think how many people are going to lose their livelihoods and how many businesses will be unable to survive this.

When did Anna go to Oz, and when is/was she due back? Do you remember?

Yeah. I like to feel secure, and I can't, right now. It is horrible. The "what's going to happen" is worrying me far more than "will I get ill?" which isn't logical but, that's what it is.

Anna is back! She's messaged me on Ravelry - she got told to work from home but has to provide her own laptop so she was trying to buy one yesterday.

WE're just updating our will, and my husband is including a specific donation to National Trust gardens and parks. We'll be using our local park at Kingston Lacy a lot in the coming weeks.

I think we're going to head out to Sheringham Park - and while we're not updating wills, we're having serious thoughts about living wills. Both my parents have them and my brother and I are named proxies.

We're going power of attorney rather than living will - my kids are well aware of my wishes and I trust them to let me die under some circumstances.

If living wills were legally binding, I'd write one tomorrow.
