It has been a very beautiful Easter day. Cloudless sky, warm, lovely! Just right for an egg hunt, though we were careful to place the goodies to the north of their concealment, so as to stay in shadow. Melted Easter bunnies, not so much fun.

It's a struggle to get the day started, particularly for Beast, as he has to get his dad out of bed. Then I cooked an early lunch, stuffed roast chicken with roasted celeriac and boiled broccoli, followed by baked apples. After that it was making chorizo and cheese scone mixture, sorting out what needed to be on which cooking tray in which oven, and getting the outdoor table set up.

Boy, Bun and Bun's Chap arrived a little before two, and after getting chairs out of the summer house we let them loose on the egg hunt. BC was a bit startled at how cunningly things were hidden, but soon got the hang of it. They spent a good three quarters of an hour scouring the garden for goodies, then we sat down for tea and Stuff.

Bun had brought some lovely asparagus and prosciutto parcels. I provided salmon paté on toast, tiny sausage rolls, vegetable mini-muffins, and aforesaid cheese and chorizo scones, followed by carrot cake and tiffin.

And then, I cut my Boy's hair. He hasn't had the chance to get it cut professionally since before Christmas, and it was *very* long. And it is SO thick, amazing stuff. Nice and clean, but SO MUCH HAIR. Anyway, he has returned home shorn and much the better for it. I put a mighty fistful of hair below where the bird feeders are in the hope that one or two of them might like it for their nests. However, the two regular crows found it, and have been spreading it about the lawn in the hope of finding the dead creature which must, surely, be in the midst of it somewhere. Poor crows.
