a woman who is healthy and strong
May. 28th, 2021 07:18 pmSurprisingly, shifting furniture can be good for a stiff back.
The carpet fitter turned up first thing and fitted the bedroom carpet very quickly. So we spent much of the afternoon doing a bed shuffle - the twin beds from bedroom 3 into bed 2 and the 4'6" bed out of the ensuite to bed 2 and into bed 3. First, of course, curtains had to be restored, a mattress shuffled, various drawers carted about between rooms, and eventually, the double bed made up, as BIL is visiting at the weekend.
My lower back has been very rigid: last night I was so uncomfortable I got very poor sleep. But carting things about—not, I should add, particularly *heavy* things, just things—doesn't seem to have done any harm. However, I'm stiffening up again. Sigh.

Beast got very efficient a few days ago. We reached the exhaustive end of our Babylon 5 rewatch, from the very start right through to the Lost Tales, at lunchtime today. But he had ordered a thingy to plug into the telly, it arrived the afternoon, we signed up to Disney+ and watched the first episode of The Mandalorian as we had our tea.

Singing with chorus tomorrow! It's the second of the outdoor sessions we have planned. I couldn't do the first one, last weekend, but I'm looking forward to this. Hope I can remember how to sing. I shall take a chair with me, as I probably won't be very comfortable standing. And I have to do a home test in the morning, oh my poor tonsils, but at least they are free: I got two seven-packs (because Beast will also be singing with his chorus soon) while I was in Sainsburys yesterday.
Dear me. What a dull post.

Date: 2021-05-29 01:10 pm (UTC)I should get on with watching Mando S2 with the kid. And then watch everything else I want to during my 2 months summer vacay because I seriously doubt I'll renew my subscription when it draws to end.
And singing! *sigh*

Date: 2021-05-30 01:36 pm (UTC)We're thinking of being serial subscribers - starting with Disney to catch up on some Marvel stuff and Star Wars stuff, then we'll go somewhere else.
After the plot-packed episodes of Babylon 5, The Mandalorian, while pretty, is bit slow!

Date: 2021-05-30 03:52 pm (UTC)Mando is pretty, yes. The first episodes were pretty good, the middle was a bit meh, and then it got better to the end. Which is no wonder, really, considering the director was Taika Waititi.
