My thanks to everyone who suggested Y-words for me! We went with Youthful and ready to say Yes, in the end. The poem went over quite well. It was part of my chorus' first set at the concert we put on last Saturday, fundraising for a local children's charity and in memory of a fellow singer who died last year. Both my choruses sang very well, despite the unfriendly acoustic (you'd think a building built for performances would have better sound), though the men had a bit of a trainwreck with one of their songs.
There were some technical issues which irritated me quite a bit: having tested the microphone, turned it on, taken it off mute, checked it, and put it back on mute, I was unable to get it off mute again no matter how much I tried. But then, having to operate a tiny control with a fingernail is not, to my mind, ideal. A microphone should have a clear On-Mute-Off button. Not that I needed one to make announcements, I've hit the back of bigger halls than that, but some of the Junior School children could have benefitted if we'd had the capability. And then there was the projector, which worked fine through the first half, and fine through the interval, but when it came to the crucial moment when we wanted to show a video, was discovered to have logged us out and could not be persuaded to log us back in. Sigh.
Still, apart from that and being unable to turn off the house lights (seriously? seriously?), the concert went very well.

In Other News, my blood sugar is down ten points! Hooray for me! Hooray for new medication!

If UK peeps among you shop at Sainsburys, I am here to warn you not to attempt to send them feedback! There is a thing printed on the bottom of your receipt, offering "lettuce-know.com" as a place where you can do so. Do not do this! You will be trapped in a mighty market information gathering exercise, which would have defeated me had I not been so very cross with the complete unusability of their SmartShop app. I fought my way to the end, marking everything as Neither Satisfied Nor Dissatisfied in the hope that would give them lease information, so that I could finally reach the option of telling them what I thought of it. Hmph.

Happy update: the dishwasher arrived as scheduled and is now working happily. It runs on night-time electricity now, having a time delay feature, and Elves empty it in the mornings.
And the heat pump seems to be working very nicely now. Not that it is at all cold outside.
And Beast has rigged up a battery system that hopefully will not be entirely consumed within two days by our kitchen extractor, the current controller having gone mad.
