primrose color blue
May. 23rd, 2023 08:15 amI pootled up to the local allotments on Saturday morning for their May plant sale, and staggered home with broccoli, cosmos, a pumpkin, a green courgette, two mysterious flowers, phlox, a couple of pelargoniums, and a generous quantity of rhubarb.
Spent much of the afternoon planting several of these! Very nice. As was the rhubarb.
Of course, I then had a sleepless night for no discernible reason, even coming downstairs to read, much to Sable's annoyance. She doesn't like things to be out of routine.
Sunday was a less glorious day, weather-wise, but I did good weeding work. Most of the veg beds are now ready to be planted, though the raspberries need some serious weeding and the bed where the tomatoes were last year also needs to be sorted.
Yesterday I went to Hobbycraft for an acrylic pouring workshop, which I enjoyed very much. We had a go at four different techniques, on ceramic coasters. I used blues and silver and sometimes green, with the intention of giving these as a set to my Boy, who approves of blue and has blue furniture (well, a blue sofa and a beanbag) in his sitting room. He shall have blue coasters. And I now have most of a set of paints, with a preponderance of red, black, gold and pink still untouched, which sounds good to me!
Beast and I had lunch at Morrison's (the workshop was 12-1). There was a gaggle clustered around the café's two pre-ordering machines, which turned out not to offer all the menu choices, so my selection of a sweet potato curry from the printed menu above the machines was a waste of time. And to add insult to injury, to offer something that isn't actually available and thus didn't show up on the relevant screen—our cups of tea were described as Yorkshire Gold, but the exasperated server explained that they do not actually have Yorkshire Gold tea, just Yorkshire.
Eh. Still, the food was very tasty and not at all expensive, so I guess it's a win.
