if the fates allow
Feb. 7th, 2024 04:23 pmPoor Beast is trying to update our email forwarding system. This involves iCloud, and forwarding addresses for both the Brats. It is surprisingly awkward, and he spent quite a lot of last night, and some of this afternoon, on the phone with an Apple help person. Their eventual solution... well, hmm. We shall see.
Although last night's conversation was in Chat, a written medium, they managed to send a confirmatory email that stated we are in BST (when Beast told them GMT), and they got our phone number wrong. He had put it into the chat with a +44 rather than a simple 0 at the front, and apparently putting in 44OurPhoneNumber MinusFinalDigit did not get through to us at the anticipated time. Who could have guessed.

I spent quite a bit of this afternoon performing necessary surgeries on several of my house plants, rearranging them into a more coherent group, and doing some minor transplants. Since the transplants were all tradescantia, I shall probably be overwhelmed with small but enthusiastic plants a few weeks from now. Well, we shall see. I hope to sell them at the next MacMillan Coffee Morning.

There were a couple of long-tailed tits at the feeders this morning, plus what I am fairly sure is a juvenile blackbird. A newcomer!

Had a nice Skype chat with my knitting group yesterday evening - a rather cut-down version of the group ended up being three Fans, so we had a pleasing time discussing Fandom, and Why It Is Currently Disappointing.

Date: 2024-02-08 08:43 pm (UTC)I should look forward to a house overgrown by tradescantias when I visit then ;-)
I'm so envious of your long-tailed tit visit! I haven't had any visiting me for several years now. I really miss them. They're so cute!

Date: 2024-02-10 09:05 pm (UTC)There should be quite a few tradescantias by then! And probably a whole bundle of avocado plants. Currently there are three, one of which is practically a tree. They keep sprouting in the compost bins, and I can't bear not to give them a chance.
I like the long-tailed tits, too! Last year there was a glorious day when we had *seven* of them all crowded round the feeder, but the numbers are down at the moment. Perhaps these two will bring offspring, later in the year.
