I thought I would just post the list of topics I've compiled for myself, and offer them to anyone who cares to pick one or two—or twenty—off the list to write about. I do mean to post more to DW than I have been managing, and this is intended to help me. Perhaps it will prompt you, too.

A little language snobbery - have a vent about the things people get wrong with the language. Like, your when they mean you're, or disinterested when they mean uninterested. Or whatever. Let 'er rip.
Cats, amirite?

The answer is, alas, very erratically. Last night I was awake until, oh, half past four in the morning, which meant that in town this afternoon I was very much nodding off, and Beast had to drive us home because I didn't trust myself. It gets that way, sometimes. I'll just lie there, occasionally struggling to find a slightly less uncomfortable position, and unable to turn off my brain. Having an arthritic hip and a dodgy shoulder, on opposite sides of my body, means it is very awkward to achieve a good sleeping position. I'm used to curling up on my left, and flat on my back is still weird, but less uncomfortable than other options.

Lying in the dark while my Beast—who is asleep within ten seconds of deciding to be so—slumbers peacefully beside me, is just so annoying. He is warm, though, so there's that.

cool list! I rarely have trouble finding stuff to babble about, but thanks for the prompts - I'm going to try to incorporate some of these in my posts over the next few weeks

You have all my sympathy, insomnia is awful! I don't know what I would do if I couldn't sleep on my side. If I ever get to the same point as you I would have to learn to sleep on my stomach because it's already impossible for me to sleep on my back.
