learn to love somebody

My Bun suggested a trip to the Sandringham Food, Craft and Wood Festival, so thither we went this morning, calling to collect Bun and her chap on the way. Driving through Norfolk was very pleasant indeed—the greens everywhere so fresh and vibrant, and several of the roads lined with candle-covered horse chestnuts and blossoming hawthorns. I know there are colourful flowers in May, but it's still a month of green and white loveliness. And it was a nice day, not evilly hot but sunny with only light clouds and very little wind. (It poured with rain all day yesterday, so this was a most welcome relief.)
The festival proved to be of good size and well organised, tho' the 'plan' in the show guide was about as basic as could be. We (well, I, with Beast dutifully in tow) naturally spent most of our time browsing the craft-y offerings, and purchased among other things a squirrel feeder and some squirrel repelling chilli powder—not to be used in conjunction—some onion bhajis the size of babies' heads, and various comestibles. Had citron pressé and a venison burger for lunch, very good, though I think Beast regretted his Yorkshire pud with a dinner inside it, as the Yorkshire was flabby—practically a crime—and not easy to cut.
Oh, and I met and petted a handsome Ridgeback gentleman. Huge dog. There were *all* possible shapes and sizes of dogs present, which is true at all such outdoor 'festivals' (ie opportunities to purchase) in Norfolk. Didn't get to see the hamsters, but there was a display of birds of prey which were of course spectacular, particularly the European Eagle Owl—immense—which had its back to us and kept swivelling its head to stare at the onlookers. We did not spend any time watching people carving wood with chainsaws, but apparently there was some kind of international competition of same. Bit noisy.
Dropped the younger generation back at their place, had a cuppa and stroked one of the cats, and just got home to discover that, surprise, no builder had been here to finish off the flooring inside our new front door. Oh well.
OMG. Just ate half a portion* of Mars Pie, which is basically cookies enclosing a slab of melted Mars bar, garnished with a chunk of, you guessed it. O.M.G.
* Portion for a very large and very greedy person, that is, since the half was *more* than satisfactory.
Also: LOL! It's Gonna Be May
