a good day for singing a song

A most satisfactory weekend, spent in Harrogate at the British Association of Barbershoppers' annual convention. The men's chorus improved upon last year's best-score-yet, my mixed chorus placed highest in our division (and got a Prize), AND we got to see Instant Classic, my favourite quartet, and a gold-medal-winning US chorus, too. A most satisfying weekend. With a very dramatic rainbow as we drove home.

Came home to find that my indoor plants all look very happy with life, but Sable was not quite sure whether she wanted love or to run away from us for leaving her alone.

She came upstairs last night to demand snuggle time, in which I acquiesced because, cat snuggles! After a day of normality, little does she know my BIL is coming to visit tomorrow, so there will be reduced snuggle time again.

Yes, I agree so much. I'm caught. There used to be a local folk club that was all sing-around, but the club we have now is all 'sit and listen to the performer' (and the performers are rather dull from my perspective)

The energy the re-enactors put into their songs (especially the dirty ones...) was like manna from heaven. I want to get to know these people better.

It was! Thank you. I'm particularly pleased for our MD—she had to conduct us with only three days' notice last year, when our regular MD caught Covid, and this year, our regular MD is pregnant (I was rather expecting her to give birth during Convention, which she was watching on Livestream from home), so our deputy has had many months to get used to conducting. So nice for her to have concrete reassurance that she did a good job!
