My scar is amazingly smooth now. There was a little rough piece at each end, one of which I snipped off a couple of days ago, the other came off this morning. I've been smearing goo on it every night, and had to check the mirror to find the unscabbed end last night! It's quite miraculous, or so it feels. And yesterday we walked up to Aldi together, shopped and returned without (boo!) a pause at the café, with me walking mostly independently and sans crutch, as Beast was towing our little cart.

On the way up the road, we went to a little local Close, because something had been delivered to us which appeared to belong there. Number 18, but in a Close instead of a Lane.

There was no #18 in that Close.

#11 was right next to #14—okay, it makes more sense if you know that in English streets, the numbering very often goes: odd numbers on one side, even numbers on t'other. And this was a Close, so they met. The builders had considerately decided not to have a #13. Anyway. The postman was obviously as baffled as we were, but we have re-posted the card with stern warnings on the front that (a) these people are not known at our house, and (b) there is no #18, XX Close. I wonder whether we will see it again.

Alas, the humungous pile of ironing awaits.

That's so great about your scar, the goo must be good stuff.

And way to go on all the walking, though yes, boo to no cafe.

It's wonderful to hear you're continuing to heal well. That's awesome you're getting around without the crutch now.

Hooray for continued healing, and walking all the way to Aldi and back!

Irish streets (at least the older ones) tend to be numbered up one side and down the other. So #10 may be across from #68, which is *trippy* until you remember the system.

May the card find its intended recipient! You've done all you can!

Excellent news about your scar! I'm very impressed by how mobile you already are!

Swedish streets are almost always numbered that way too. Hopefully you won't see that card again *keeps fingers crossed*

My daughter spend most of the two weeks before Xmas in the sorting office, trying to work out where letters like that were supposed to go. She managed to find plausible homes for around 40% I think it was, but some of them were totally impossible, either due to a completely garbage address, or handwriting beyond even the ability of a trained postie (they have to pass a test deciphering bad handwriting to get the job) to deal with.

It's lovely to see how well your healing has been going, although definitely boo regarding the lack of cafe pause!

If you can get them, the sketchers slip-on magic trainers are absolutely miraculous for the avoidance of bending and the sale looks to be pretty reasonable right now.
