Shattered!

Ack! Misery and woe! With a trip to Bath due to start early tomorrow morning, I managed to back my car into a barrier at the car park, and have shattered into two million tiny shards the entire rear windscreen. Augh. I didn't even think I was that close to the wall - though in my defence, it does have three metal bars which angle well forward from the wall, and the joint on the top bar must have been what caused the glass to go BANG.

Meh.

So, trip to Autoglass this evening. :-(

It was quite a shock - I dithered and gibbered for a while before getting my wits back together and making the needful phone calls.

Yes, sigh - we were in town to see if we could buy the Boy a new watch, all very civilised. Yes, his parcel arrived, and he wore the grey one on Saturday. Very chic! (He is running around, well, ambling around topless this evening.)

Oh, you poor thing, thats not good at all. Uou can console yourself with a trip tomorrow to one of my favourite cities ever! Bath is gorgeous and I miss living close to it. Have a wonderful day.

I love Bath, too - himself and I went for a long weekend there for our tenth wedding anniversary, and the four of us stopped there on our canal boat holiday a couple of summers ago. It's so lovely. But we are only going to the University tomorrow, which is a bit outside the city and from what I recall, nowhere near as pretty!

I have fuzzy memories of many nights spent propping up the SU bar at Bath university! A couple of my friends studied there and I was a regular visitor. No, the Uni isn't as pretty as Bath itself but I recall it having a reputation as a quality Uni with good results and happy students.

Eeek! What a shock it must have been for you! At least no one got hurt I hope?

No - nobody hurt, just extremely startled. It was quite therapeutic bashing the mosaic'd glass into the boot, as I didn't think it at all a good plan to drive off with a shattered window that was likely to leave a trail of glass shards along the road!

Yeah, we were able to get the window repaired yesterday evening, which was fortunate as we had to get down to Bath today. It was really one of those *argh, gimme those three seconds back so I can do them again without the stupid part* moments.
