well - I can't think of a more perfect way of finding about the real event, and you just made me *tear up* so I think you should share that with everyone, but I may not be the most rational person to ask. I *want* that to be true. All of it.

[and I just went to follow the link, and the honour roll only shows the last ten or 20 donations and not that one ....]

I spose it was looking at Reichen's page and seeing the list of donors' names scrolling by that made me think "'wouldn't it be wonderful if..." and since I can develop a whole backstory for Lance's parents, and *wish like anything* that they would stand up and say something along the lines of "he's our son and we love him", really, the whole thing just came straight off the ends of my fingers.

I want it to be true, too. sniff. I nip back to see how the donations are going, every so often, and I can't resist checking to see, *just in case* those names show up!

Fanfic as wish-fulfillment. Mind you, the way Lance is going, I'd better get my send-him-to-space story written before he Josses it by actually getting there!
