Funny thing, though, the Lance one that was place first I wasn't very pleased with... and the 'Beautiful' one, well, I love the effect I got on the brush (wonder how I did that?) but wasn't entirely satisfied with it, nonetheless. Oh well.

I've found that entering these icon challenges has led to me learning an enormous amount about how Photoshop works - so if you fancy improving your own graphics, I'd recommend it! Somehow, just sitting down to play with a program never works as well as having an actual goal.

I love to play around with the programs - I just need to find the time. The prospect is overwhelming to me. I'm not visually creative - which is why I'm taking photography this semester at school (cause I'm a glutton for punishment) - so it's always daunting. But I guess it's like everything else, the more you do it, the better you get at it. I'm going to try to set aside some time and see what happens.

Until then, I'll completely sit back an enjoy the pretty that all of you make.

If you don't already, I recommend reading icon_tutorial, where there are quite often very interesting demos on how to get particular effects, and occasionally really, *really* useful tutorials on technique. And, admittedly, a lot of silly questions and demonstrations of things you really don't want to do!
