Catching Up
Sep. 18th, 2006 11:10 amPhew... it's not over yet, but we're getting there.
The concerts on Friday and Saturday went well. We had at least 150 people at each, possibly more, and they seemed to enjoy themselves. Got applause for our costumes when the curtains opened on the second half, both nights! We were all tarted up with long evening wear and sparklies, which is unusual for a concert, but obviously was appreciated. Sang better, by and large, on Friday than on Saturday, although our Italian Brindisi on Saturday night was the best we've ever done. Beast and Brats came to Friday's performance, and enjoyed the first half best, as it was more variety, but I must say the second half was a good lungs-open sing.
Beast and I got up at seven (sigh) on Sunday morning to go into London and do more flat-emptying. It took a Great Deal of effort to get the chin-high tv/video unit down five flights of stairs and into the car, but we did it, sweatily and with much grunting. Filled the car, took it over to BiL, unfilled it, went back, and retrieved a few bits and pieces for ourselves, including a bookcase for Bun, who is off to her new flatshare this week.
I have also been Upgraded. Himself acquired a fabulous new Intel-powered megafast Mac so I am now the proud user of the G5. He's just put my Creative Suite on there. Of course, it's all very confusing at the moment as my G4 was set up withall kinds of rubbish various partitions and it is All Different Now. But I dare say I shall cope. One thing I hadn't done on the previous desktop was to set the wallpapers to fade from one to the next - it used to be an abrupt transition, a bit disconcerting while Photoshopping, but now it is all smooth and fancy. Hee. I also have a brighter screen, so my icons will probably get darker...
Tasks for today: birthday present for Adorable Nephew. It'll be late, but alas, it'll just have to be. Read a couple of shows in preparation for meeting this evening. Prod Bun into getting stuff packed for trip to Bristol tomorrow. Iron at least some of Immense Pile. Curse it. Try not to watch more Veronica Mars, season 2, until the menfolk have seen first disk.
Right. Shopping.
