Also, the most beautiful laptop ever.

Had auditions for comedy skits last night - apart from a degree of bogglement at how hard the younger generation seem to find it to *read* stuff, I was reasonably pleased. Of course, the sketches would all be better if I used the same three people for everything, because the fact is, some people have it and some people don't, but I think there's decent potential there.

After the music auditions, I'll really be able to figure out how the pieces fit together.

That laptop is incredible! I'd be scared to use it, lol. And did I miss something? What are you holding auditions for?

I'm running a variety show for our theatre group, to be performed at the end of June. We still have auditions for the musical items to come, but I'm giving people a while longer to prepare for those.

*small sigh* It's fun doing these summer shows, but I'm also directing our next show, for which rehearsals will start in September (or possibly August), and it would have been a much better plan not to be doing two in a row.

My dad mailed me this morning about Clarke's death. It made me so sad, he was definitely my favourite of the Golden Age writers. I loved his lyrical style and his thoughtfulness, so different from the Asimov's wooden prose and Heinlein's American heartiness.

Wow, that's one spectacular laptop! (But why didn't they use a Mac, then it would've been perfect ;-)

It's a surprisingly long time since I read any of the classic SF authors, but I know Clarke had some stunning ideas. I love the idea of a space elevator, and I wish so much that some enterprising group would get working on that...

Somehow I don't think the Mac's minimalist design would be the right choice (tho' of course I applaud your sentiments) - it needs something a bit more baroque!

That's quite the laptop - though probably not something you'd want to carry around. :)

It'd have to have some kind of carrying device with many wheels and an elegant little engine, I think!

Isn't it! Though you'd probably need another fanciful device in order to have it actually be portable, it looks heavy.
