I'd wondered where the post-'Adrift' (Torchwood) LJ explosion of squee was, and I found it this evening, on ihazastopwatch, the Torchwood macros comm. Also some very excellent icons at nomorewolfie. Spoilers, though, for those who haven't seen episode 2.12.

My brats did well today. We had a fun Easter Egg Hunt, indoors for the first time in many years, and I have to admit that a house as untidy as mine makes a *brilliant* place for hiding eggs. I got very cunning, especially with the tiny Mars egglets. Then Bun (with Boy as kitchen serf) created an exceedingly good boeuf bourgignon, yum, and Boy lured me back to watching the Heroes dvds while we ate it. Hiro is *adorable*, Peter is cute, Nathan is icky (Petrocelli-cest? Really? Why? Because, ew.), Mohinder is beautiful but disappointingly whiny. And I'm definitely getting interested in the plot.

Beyond that, um.

I loves Heroes with a passion, I really do. I kind of... I see why the Petrelli-cest, they are slashy as all hell, but Nathan really really really doesn't do it for me, so that's a NO. (Hiro/Ando, though. Or Hiro/Peter. Or Peter/Mohinder. Hmmm, lots of pretty.)

I am bored and avoiding writing porn and don't want to sleep. Sigh.

I find the story-telling style of Heroes a bit distancing, because you get such a very small piece at a time, but Boy and I have now watched five eps together, and it's definitely building up into something intriguing.

I'm not getting much impulse towards slash there, but for me the most slashy vibe comes from Peter+Isaac, a combination of the 'we both want the same woman=resentment+unease' and the 'oh my god' sharing moment when Peter finishes the painting.

Though really, I can't at the moment imagine writing in someone else's universe again.

I've always thought the cest vibe was strong in Heroes, especially the further you get into the series.

Saying that. When I first watched I really wanted Peter/Issac slash.

An easter egg hunt sounds like so much fun!

For me, that would depend on Nathan becoming less of a jerk! But I do get the Peter/Isaak thing.

Easter Egg hunts are great fun! My mother-in-law started this when the kids were little and we used to visit regularly at Easter. Now, the kids are big and the mother-in-law is gone, but we still have our hunts. It's great fun trying to find really difficult places to hide the eggs! Also, it means they get an abundance of tiny eggs, which prolongs the hunt, rather than a couple of big ones. More chocolate per pound, I suspect.

nobody writes Matt slash. This makes me sad. (Well, they do, but it all seems to be awful Matt / Mohinder, in which the characters MAKE NO SENSE)

Matt is lovely - but in my viewing so far, hasn't really met any of the others, which IMO makes slashing a bit... challenging.

It definitely is, particularly when it's as untidy as it is right now (though I did spend an hour and a half ironing this evening, which has helped a little bit). I got very cunning with camouflage, too!

Heroes is love. The story telling process made me so happy. (I've only een season 1)

I do like the way the story is told - it's nice to have a tv show that takes its time - though it made it difficult to get 'hooked' by any one of the storylines until at least episode three.

My son is watching (season one, we're about half-way through) for the third time, having seen it once and been rather baffled, then re-watched with his big sister explaining a fair bit of stuff. He's very enthusiastic about the show, which is nice! It's interesting, watching with him: because of his Asperger's, he doesn't pick up on things... Claire's "parents" for example. I was sure they were not really her biological parents, but I couldn't explain to him why I thought so.
