acclimating to retirement

I have a new demesne! My computer, and accoutrements, have been moved into what used to be Beast's home office. Note that I didn't say I have moved it, because 'twas Beast who did the work, while I was doing other useful things like cleaning the bathroom and taking the Boy to have his eyes tested. Beast did not, indeed, require my assistance most of the time, reasoning quite correctly that I would be asking Are we there yet? all the time of little use.

It is going to take a little getting used to, having an unemployed Beast about the place. My usual style for getting things done is to have a deadline - either I am working furiously to meet the deadline, or I am procrastinating. Occasionally, the procrastination takes the form of cleaning the kitchen. Beast, however, sees what needs to be done, and addresses something. Hence we have reorganised our mutual computing space, and joined a gym. Induction on Monday, and I shall be back to weights training, which I like.


Squee! German Daleks! Daleks, speaking German! Exterminieren! Oh, JOY!

A new place for the computer is always exciting, and even more so when you don't have to do all the heavy lifting and cord sorting-out and disconnecting-and-reconnecting yourself :-)

I'm still getting used to being in here on my own, but overall, it's good. Beast is talking about hanging the speakers off the wall next.
