I hate the very idea of a twelve year old having a baby. I think it's horrendous. It's possible to argue that if a girl is old enough to have a baby, she's old enough to be a mother. I think that's very unlikely to be true, and that if she keeps the baby, it'll be her own mother who ends up taking care of the new child. And if my twelve-year-old were pregnant, frankly, I'd rather she chose to have an abortion.

12. Should the alcohol age be lowered to eighteen?
In my country, it is eighteen. It seems reasonable.

13. Should the war in Iraq be called off?
I don't know.

14. Assisted suicide is illegal: do you agree?
No.

15. Do you believe in spanking your children?
Yes, though I don't believe in whipping or paddling them.

I don't know. It wouldn't be very polite. And why would I want a million dollars?

Nah, just find one that needs to be destroyed because it's no longer in good shape. The Flag Code says to burn them in a respectful manner. :D Take the money in good heart.

(I'm ignoring the "why do I want a million dollars" part of your answer, because my mind boggled. I have a million reasons why I would want a million dollars, and about a hundred thousand of them are labelled "student loans", haha.)

You know, it doesn't at all surprise me that merely burning a flag is *not* necessarily reprehensible at all. Though I wouldn't have been totally surprised, either, to find that there are specific rules for disposing of past-it flags.

I'm lucky—I don't have scary debts. In fairness, I do entertain myself with "What if my premium bonds came up with a million pounds for me?" fantasies, most of which involve giving it away, which would be fun.

It is quite interesting, though, seeing what's considered a list of controversial questions. It would be cool to see ones from lots of different countries.

I wonder where the 'survey' originated? I mean, obviously somewhere in the US, because at no point does it seem to have entered the author's head that there *is* anywhere beyond America, but I wonder which set of answers the author would consider 'correct'.

I did a 'political' survey a while ago, and apparently, I'm a socialist. Up the workers!

pen, out of everyone so far, your answers were most like mine; the only difference being i would probably try meth.

i can't believe so many people are against spanking or lightly disciplining children, i mean, i consider it the last resort but it's hardly evil. surely these people haven't come across demon children, of which there are many!

It also depends which child! When my elder brat got to a certain point I could *see* her thought processes - I'd say, If you do that, I will spank you, and she'd think, Hell, I'm doing it anyway. So we had to figure out something else. With my younger brat, the mere threat of a smack horrified him enough that we virtually never needed to apply one. But some children would be enormously upset by being put in 'time out' instead. Parents just have to pay attention.

And there are an awful lot of people out there who would have benefited from a good smack when they were young enough to learn from it! :-(

The grated throat is much better now, and I managed to breathe last night, too, which was nice. I still have a mind in chaos, I don't seem to be able to concentrate on anything for all the other things buzzing around my head. :-(

We went to Norwich and back *twice* in the last two days, cos my Boy had a doctor's appointment yesterday morning (at 8am! In North London!). I definitely haven't caught up on sleep yet...

But it's a relief to see that Boy seems to be coping with his course and keeping himself reasonably organised. He's still having trouble talking to people, but he *is* going off to clubs - board games! sadly he didn't get a place in the D&D - so he isn't a hermit.
