Backstreet again!
Nov. 11th, 2009 10:26 amPersonal trainer (a nice young man who plays rugby) good, lots of work with arm muscles, er, okay.
Met Bun in John Lewis, Oxford Street, bought (inevitably) yarn, went to O2 for foods. Good call getting there early.
Backstreet!
Our seats were in the tiered part, not far from the stage and not too high—turned out there was extra space for dancing in, which was nice. Mexican waves! Sudden and baffling excitement of entire audience at appearance of -???- in box high up on opposite side of arena. Support act of incomprehensible rap and panto-style "see which side of the arena can shout loudest"... let's just say we missed nothing on Sunday, guys. SHOW! Howie still leaving scorchmarks on stage! At distance, possible to observe full effect of undulations, well worth observing. "She's a Dream" considerably enlivened when Nick removed his hoodie. Black singlet. SHOULDERS! Oh, I am going to hell. Howie temporarily no longer hottest thing on stage. "I Want It That Way" more religious experience than concert, fortunately roof of Dome well attached. Film 'trailers' still awesome. Sound quality a bit crap, so loud it distorted, not an enhancing feature, O2 personnel please note. Brian particularly adorable. AJ risked life and limb descending from stage into groping audience at one point. People started leaving about two songs before end, strange people. Was large camera pointed at stage, therefore I hope to see this all again at some point. Really *excellent* show.
Escaping from North Greenwich was interesting as there was, necessarily, Crowd Control, ie we were funnelled gradually into the tube station and stuffed onto a train. But, home was achieved in reasonable time, and today we must restore Bun to Norwich.
