Wot is with the suddenly-unformattable posts? Dammit, I *know* how to use paragraphs! (ETA: Ah, that's better.)
Beast and I went on an Expotition yesterday, not quite to the North Pole but to a farm in search of a tree, having suddenly realised that we had no tree, and the Usual Place is only open for tree-purchasing on Saturdays. Everywhere looks So Pretty! The trees are fleeced with snow, and I love the way the white stuff clings at improbable angles to the droopy conifers. Today the bushes are covered in thick white spikes, as it was frosty again this morning.
Tree is yet to be decorated - a task for the brats, while I wrap presents. Have trogged through the village to obtain my boned turkey. Poor butchers, I feel somewhat guilty for requesting a turkey with Extra Work, but otoh, boned turkey! No carving problems for Beast! Damn, I suddenly realised I didn't collect the bones. :-( Yay for handsome Doc Martens, altogether more stylish than wellies and less permeable than trainers. The paths are caked with icy snow, but oddly unslippery. It will however be interesting getting FIL, with his enplastered foot, from car to house this evening.
Cat is singing in her sleep again.
I have twice redelivered letters to the house next along from ours, which has a *precipitous* drive, it's about one in three. And, and this is interesting, a small digger in the front garden. Happily they have salted the drive today.
Have begun to make progress on second festive exchange story. Is there anyone out there who might have time to beta a Stargate Atlantis story over the next few days?

Date: 2009-12-23 07:23 pm (UTC)I've only been to a Christmas tree farm once and enjoyed it a lot. Plastic trees are all well and good but there was something special about picking a real one.
