Well, wow.

I've just been reading an internet conversation about rape, in a non-feminist, not-very-visibly moderated blog, that didn't fill me with rage, that actually seemed to be filled with understanding and progress towards understanding and was not filled with arseholish behaviour. Remarkable. It does start out a bit rocky, but keep reading.

And I might perhaps have witnessed the start of a new Thing, an "It's Not Your Fault" project along the lines of the "It Gets Better" project.

I've read lots of very intelligent discussions of rape culture in specifically feminist places, but although PZ Myers is pretty good on women's issues, it's not strictly speaking a feminist blog, and it is *so* nice not to see the Stupid comments that usually turn up anywhere else this is discussed.

I think that's one of the things that makes it interesting. I was surprised at the comments, you know? People were actually concerned and some even wrote sensible things.
