And another thing! Why is practically everyone on LJ using a teenytinyweenylittle font these days? I can't read your stories until I have cmd+ at least once, often twice. Frankly, I'm starting to resent it.

Okay, curmudgeon mode off, back to the meme.

4. Do you have a "muse" character, that speaks to you more than others, or that tries to push their way in, even when the fic isn't about them? Who are they, and why did that character became your muse?


The majority of my stories are about Lance, partly because he most fascinates me, partly (I suspect) because the first icon challenge community I joined was the Lance Challenge, so I spent a lot of time looking at him, and partly because after a while I was (still am, slowly) deliberately filling the fanfic100 prompts. He's the one who had Secrets, early on. He's the one who's most unpredictable, full of surprises. Also, Lance fanon is a lot of fun, veering from innocent little flower to evil mastermind in training. So much fun!

Anyway, he is the one I tend to build stories around, unless otherwise directed. I'm not sure that he pushes his way in... except that he does, sometimes. In It Pays to Advertise I found that the extended version had a sneak C-Bass pairing, because Lance.

Actually, I think I have a 'muse' pairing. Whenever I don't set out to write a pairing in a story, it has a strong tendency to end up as Trickyfish. Thirteen Years and Counting was a case in point - it wasn't intended as a pairing fic, but it turned out that way. So did Round Dance. Sometimes I have to restrain them quite firmly when the story has to be about some other pairing - A Tale of Dreams and Asses was one such, where Chris kept trying to, er, horn in.

I imagine Lance would be very pushy, and that's very true about his fanon. He can be portrayed so many ways and I'd buy most of them.

Lance does tend to prod me occasionally, though thats usually before I've started writing rather than when I'm supposed to be writing about someone else!
