I tried eight times to post something to an LJ community (the last two actually I tried to send a Message instead) with no success. And yet, I managed to comment to a totally different post *and* read my friends list in between attempts—which actually makes me much crosser than if I'd not been able to do anything

Thank God I can get my fix from Dreamwidth.

I've been unable to get to anything except the 'home' page - no friendspage, no individual journals, no profile, nada. it's majorly frustrating, because I just don't have as many folks or fic links on DW

You're lucky! I haven't been able to get on LJ at all today. I heartily agree about DW though. And I've been busy making icons for the next round of fandom20in20. Fantasia is such a fun movie!
