However, in response to this (among others), there is a choice list of LGBT-friendly books being compiled here. Go! Add! Etc!
2. For icon-makers reading this, have you thought of joining
chromicons? The community is just starting up a new challenge which looks like fun, here.
3. I've been re-watching the Appendices on the Lord of the Rings extended edition DVDs, which are still utterly fascinating. Particularly the creation of the sets, miniatures, costumes and prosthetics. Amazing stuff. Though I still say they were wrong about Faramir.

I think it might have been done better, if they had to do it at all, but the point of Faramir is that he's a better man than Boromir was. Also, it's all very well saying that if Faramir declines to take the ring, it makes the ring look weak - if the Ringwraith gets within spitting distance of the ring and fails to find it, it makes the Ringwraith look really un-scary.
