A possible solution to the posting problem - might it be my new keyboard's fault?

I have a Mac. My Beast recently felt the need for a more tactile keyboard, and bought one for me at the same time, so I'm now using a keyboard that was plainly made for a Windows machine, which has been adjusted so that the crucial keys (namely, the " and the @ ) are the correct way round when I'm typing, ie the " is like a capital ' and the @ is above the 2. I cannot discern the logic of having the " anywhere else, indeed.

But I'm thinking, maybe the way our keyboard now works with the computer has something to do with the DW and LJ complaints about my UTF-8 encoding? Because nothing else has changed.

What I don't understand, though, is why the Preview function in both LJ and DW shows my entry/comment as PERFECTLY FINE, before it then fails to post. I think I'm entitled to feel just a little bit aggrieved about that.

Oh, bugger. I just realised, this post isn't going to post.

Oh, wait. It did post. Must be something to do with writing stuff in TextEdit first. Gah.

It's the Mac. I did research into this myself because I was posting things that I knew were very plain and not too long, and it wouldn't let me post them to LJ. There's something in the way it encapsulates the data that creates packets of data that are too long or something (I totally don't remember the specific details). Sometimes saving the post in something else, another format, helps. I think once I posted to DW hidden then copied/pasted it to LJ. I've also switched to a PC to get it posted at times.

But in the end, it has to do with how the Mac communicates, and I swear there must be a setting to change but I haven't found it.

Yeah. I've done things exactly the same way and one month it works, and another it doesn't. It drives me NUTS.

This is just to say thank you for the lovely card!

Unfortunately since it's been raining more or less non-stop for 48 hours, it's a bit wet, and is now drying out in front of my fan. :/
