Christmassy Stuff.

I think it was turlough who wanted to see my tree, with its red, gold and glass decorations, so here it is:




And here's a close-up showing a couple of my favourite baubles - I have great love for the red faceted one (which is very heavy), and the eggs came in a set and are like miniature Fabergé eggs, so pretty! There is also a long glass one which has red dots on and reminds me of a Lamp, but alas, not visible here.



Our cheap battery-powered strings of lights finally gave up the ghost this year and have been thrown out, so there were no lights on the tree. But I bought, some years ago, a really pretty string of lights with painted bulbs, and those come out every year to adorn the divide between dining and living room.







I should probably bring them to Camp Sparkle. I think we should have another Sparkly meal with fizz and sequins.



This part is probably not for the squeamish, as it contains Piglet.



It was a long and elegant piglet.



Indeed, it had to be cut in two (with the kitchen scissors) in order to prep it for the ovens. One half was stuffed with herb stuffing, the other with sausagemeat and cranberry stuffing. Here it is, stuffed, sewn and skewered.



It was nommy! (The cat thought so too. She was delivered a small slice of it, fresh from the oven, and ardently pleaded for Moar. In fact, it was only Moar that kept her from being underfoot as we got the food ready to go on the table.) We have had three main meals plus several warm pork sandwiches, and are going to finish it off tomorrow in soup.

I've been accumulating red and gold and glass tree stuff for quite a long time, so the least pretty ones don't need to go on it these days. Sometimes I put them on a wreath on the front door instead.

Your tree is lovely!! So many wonderful ornaments and I love, love, love the garlands. I've been trying to find simple strands like that and totally failed for years. And the painted lights are so pretty.

Oddly, I suspect the long strings of beads were pretty cheap. We (ie Bun and I) like them better than tinsel, as they're more delicate.

The painted lightbulbs are amazing! And I definitely vote yes on there being another sparkly party at Camp.

The lights are lovely! And my cat Sam likes ham so much he came up and slapped some out of my hand the other day, then fell on it like a starving wolf.
