Have been reading too many popslash stories. Define 'too many'. Nah, probably not, then.
It struck me yesterday that there are some correspondences with other fannish areas. Namely, Chris Kirkpatrick = Miles Vorkosigan in lots of interesting ways. Lance - Anakin Skywalker. The others are more difficult: JC is like water, difficult to grasp; Joey almost the opposite. Someone tell me where to find a complex!Joey story. Justin is, in some incarnations, a lot like David Feintuch's Rodrigo. Wonder if that will ever make sense to anyone but me.
Well, anyway. Dinner dance tonight, yay, time to get the twinkly shoes out of the wardrobe. It seems we get salsa instruction as well as regular dancing, and the disco lady has borrowed my ballroom CDs so I hope the Beast can remember how to quickstep.

Date: 2005-04-15 09:32 am (UTC)I dunno quite what I meant by complex!Joey. Perhaps his characterisation is more uniform than the others' - for instance, I've read maniac!Chris, fierce!Chris, Master!Chris, bottom!Chris, daft!Chris, vulnerable!Chris (and so forth), and the differing characterisations seem to create a multifacetted ur-Chris (gosh!). Whereas with Joey, although there are variations along the straight-gay axis, he is very nearly always presented as A Nice Man. And Nice Men, while they are my favourite kind IRL, are less interesting to write/read about than unpredictable ones.
I did come across a remix of Merry's 'Wolves and Boybands Mate for Life' story, from Joey's POV, and with Venn diagrams (!), which was delightful, and I cannot for the life of me trace the url. Grump.
Wolves, you say?
