Miscellanea
Jan. 16th, 2013 11:58 pm1. My feet are warm! I just bought myself a pair of boot-shaped slippers. They are cream, furry, and sequinned. Life is good.
2. I meant to mention this before, too—I am now the proud owner of a temperature controlled butter dish. Never again shall I come into the kitchen on a summer afternoon to discover that the butter has been sunbathing, and is flowing across the worktop. Never again shall I have to chisel shards from a rock-like slab to place on my toast. My thanks to the Boy, who bestowed it on us for Christmas, but more particularly to Bun, who discovered it in the first place and prodded the Boy into ordering one for us.
3. I had a nasty fright yesterday when attempting to update my website—got a grim message from Adobe about licensing and having to reinstall DW3. (I don't use DW5 because, sadly, the wysiwyg does not work.) Turns out to have been a problem because I switched computer, and the hard drive on this one has a different name from what it had on the previous iteration. So *everything* on the site was re-uploaded (sigh), which took quite a while. I only wanted to add a couple of stories. Oh well.
4. And... I just watched the repeat of the Don't Tell The Bride in which the adorable geek has his wedding reception at the Space Centre, and his stag night is all the birthday parties he's missed. What a little sweetheart he is. And his bride, while somewhat boring by comparison, is a nice lass who obviously tolerates her man's geekiness with affection, and is ready to be pleased and to appreciate his efforts. Awwwww. I do not like the brides who are complete brats.

Date: 2013-01-20 09:38 pm (UTC)The butter dish is plugged in - unfortunately that's the biggest disadvantage at the moment, as it is not very close to the toaster. But we lack a sufficiency of sockets.
