Why am I having so much trouble posting images? I'm putting the code in, and *nothing* shows up on my previews at all. What?

It's ImageShack. I got turned off Photobucket because they mess with .jpg quality, boo. I'm using the img src="the direct link on ImageShack" / format, with angled brackets, and not seeing anything in preview at all. Help?

Hi! Right, having messed with ImageShack for a bit, that's weird.

If I try with the < img > tag and the link marked "Link" on ImageShack, I don't get anything showing up in the preview. But if I try with the link marked "Direct Link", I get a preview as normal. (The copy-paste HTML code works, too, even when I strip out the extraneous links.)

It might be worth trying to use a different image, in case something's strange or buggy with that one image. If another image works, it might be worth uploading the image a second time and seeing if that makes the difference.

Thanks for taking a look! This is what puzzles me - I used the Direct link, and there were several images in the post I was composing (had a disaster with Safari this morning and had to force quit, so I don't know if that draft will have saved), but none would show in the Preview. I'm sure I've had this same problem before, and can't remember whether I solved it by simply posting the thing anyway. But it's definitely not showing when I try to preview the post, and I'm not getting any messages about bad html either. :-(
