pensnestThe internet is a place of joy and wonder, isn't it! I can't remember how I found these links—I know I was looking at knitting videos (how to do cabling without a cable needle, which won't be my first choice but may come in handy next time I forget the cable needle, for instance).
Quite how I got from there to IKEA or Death I do not know. My knowledge of IKEA is minimal, my knowledge of Death (in this context) nonexistent, so I did not do well.
However.
To revive me in my humiliation, I found Unicorn Poop Cookies, and am filled with desire to create same. But I'm not going to. Not today, anyway. Maybe for Christmas. Way better than fruit cake.
I've written 4,400 words! Still no *story*, but that will surely arrive at some point. It's odd—when I started writing popslash, my natural story length was 1,000-2,000 words for quite some time. Now, I seem to have trouble with that kind of thing, which means I had better get cracking on my MTYG story as soon as the assignments come out.
You have signed up, haven't you? I note with disapproval that a number of expected names are as yet missing.

Date: 2013-10-26 08:21 pm (UTC)A lot of popslash people don't seem to be doing the journal thing at the moment. I think several of them have moved to Twitter, which is just wrong. But don't worry about not being in touch with popslash people. There are people who show up every year for SeSa whom I never have any contact with at other times of the year. I really don't know where they come from! Being out of touch for a while shouldn't be a handicap.
Plus, we had Backstreet recombining with Kevin *and* NSYNC getting together for Justin's VMAs thing, with lots of attendant interviews which were cute and happy-making. (Have a look back through my DW, I linked to what I could find.) Should be inspiring!
So, if I can be of use, please let me know how and I will do my best to provide encouragement, information, whatever!

Date: 2013-10-26 08:38 pm (UTC)Yeah, I follow some popslashers on Twitter, but a lot of people seem to have moved onto other fandoms (hockey?! No I don't like sport. Then again I didn't like boybands much before popslash got its teeth into me, so maybe I should get someone to pimp me).
I will have a look through your journal and see what I can find! I have had the VMA performance open in a tab for weeks now - I should really watch it. :D
And thank you! I need to figure out which of my many Secondary Pairings I should request and what I'm going to say in my 100 characters. (Also, a letter, though I have a lot I can crib from my Yuletide letter.)
Um, this has been rambling on the vague topic of popslash. Thank you so much for offering to help - I think part of the problem with MTYG last year for me was that I didn't talk to anyone about it and felt really alone!
I will go and sign up now.
