Disneyworld!! That is, if everybody actually wanted to go to DisneyWorld. I love it, myself, but it might be over-twee or over-commercialised or over-done for others. But it is a place to put off adult things and be a merry child, which is sorta what we do at Camp anyway. Everyone would be required to print up a Camp Sparkle T-shirt for themselves so that we could roam in magenta groups and outweird the marauding tribes of senior citizens whose T-shirts just do not measure up.
We would scour the popslash archives for any and every reference to Disney and compile careful lists of Things To Be Visited and Things To Be Done (although the 'round the world' trip might be deemed alcohol-optional, as we will not have a giant bodyguard to carry us home).
We would have a carefully organised programme of Which Park Today, and we would go to All The Fireworks, and the first thing of all when we had unpacked would be a ritual game of Crazy Golf near the Dolphin (?) hotel, because it is the prettiest golf course ever (except that I have not tried the one near the snow-covered Water Park, which may be even prettier). But we would have two or three fireworks-free evenings for doing Proper Camp Stuff.
And we would have a day at Universal Studios, and stop for coffee at the Fifties place with the doo-wop group, and go to the Beetlejuice thingy, as well as playing on the Men In Black ride which is AWESOME. And the other stuff. And if we timed our trip right, we could go to whichever club Chris Kirkpatrick was doing something or other in, which would definitely add sparkle. (Although frankly, there is enough sparkle in WDW to satisfy any sparkle-hungry soul.)
The only thing I don't know is whether it would be possible to stay anywhere in WDW as a group of 20-ish people, who could all eat together. That's important—and I think part of the Camp Sparkle experience is cooking for each other and getting to share different kinds of food… not that it's difficult to have different kinds of things to eat at Disney, but going to restaurants isn't the same.
So, if not Disneyworld… well, if we hadn't already visited Portsmouth we could have gone here. Because O.M.G.
However, we've been to Portsmouth. Perhaps instead, we just go for sunshine. I actually started looking at places in Spain this summer. There would be a number of logistical challenges, but if we could have at our disposal an experienced and phlegmatic bus driver, then somewhere not too distant from, say, Barcelona, would be lovely. The programme would certainly include at least one day in Barcelona, and the option of going to the seaside, and whatever was more locally accessible. We could have horse riding and other healthy outdoor pursuits, and also lounging by our very own pool, and stuff. This one looks nice.
Or alternatively, a chateau in France. Like this one, or perhaps this one. Again, with hot and cold running chauffeur, of course. I feel sure we could find things to entertain us once we'd finished marvelling at the house!
We don't usually go to a specific place for a specific attraction, but I'm sure that if we went somewhere warm and gorgeous, we'd find plenty of things to do.
Who else has some cool ideas on the subject?

Date: 2013-12-21 11:54 pm (UTC)I wouldn't say no to somewhere outside of Barcelona either. Or to one of those French chateaus! And as Anna said, there are still heaps of places in the UK to visit. Particularly if money was no objection :-)

Date: 2013-12-21 01:55 am (UTC)Make it more than one day at Universal, because Harry Potter stuff would take a day all by itself.
Spain or France would be okay, too.

Date: 2013-12-21 07:09 am (UTC)You need to combine your idea and KC's so we have both matching t-shirts and sparkly ears, because that would be AMAZEBALLS!
