Twenty-two over seven
Jul. 22nd, 2014 11:09 pmAs far as I am concerned, today is Pi Day. 22/7. Not that I have celebrated by constructing a pie, or even a pie chart. I did make a rather good pie a few days ago, with a random selection of fruit-I-happened-to-have-in-the-house, including nectarines, dried figs, a banana, apples, and so on, moistened with Grandpa's plum jam. It was very good pie.
Real post! Thank you
frausorge for the postcard from Paris. :-)
My fingernails are a splattered mixture of light blue, white and occasional pink. I cannot decide if they look really cool or as though I have diseased fingertips.
The pumpkin plant is taking overHertfordshire the back garden. There are several burgeoning pumpkins, which should make for a curry-filled autumn. There's also at least one respectable squash in progress, and a couple of junior-baseball-bat-sized courgettes, due to my not thinking about cooking any today or yesterday. Also, beans. And I must post—but cannot yet—a picture of my GLORIOUS lilies.
We had two estate agents here this afternoon to give us an idea of what we might sell our house for—and a long, fairly gentle sales pitch about why we should use their particular agencies. Still, fair enough. Another one tomorrow.
Tomorrow is also the sixth anniversary of my father's death. So I have been watching some of the background material from the Lord of the Rings films—Christopher Lee's eyes are a little darker than my Dad's, his face is thinner and his beard more substantial, but otherwise, and particularly in voice and mannerisms, he is *just* like my father. The voice is particularly evocative. And I don't have my father on tape or video.

Date: 2014-07-24 12:01 am (UTC)Christopher Lee! Much with the gravitas, that one. :) I really ought to sit down sometime and make a list of all the actors that I've thought resembled my father at one time or another (there have been A LOT)...but I'm scared that the percentage of crush overlap will be the thing that finally destroys me mentally. (Not a joke. Ugh.)
