It has been a day of annoyances, mostly.
Due to having a rehearsal on Thursday (actually, a line dancing lesson, and fun) and a quiz night on Friday (we won!) I set the fancy new DVD to record Torchwood parts 4 and 5. So we settled down together—after spending a *ridiculous* amount of time trying to order pizza online (there's a discount) via the moronic Papa John's website (can I take out a contract on these people?)—and watched TW pt 4. And found that part 5 had not saved. Fucking technology. Bun had pressed a record button by mistake while watching something else, so we got two minutes of CBBC cartoons instead, but I don't think that excuses the complete erasure of my careful programming. Luckily for my state of mind, we could hook up the new laptop to the telly and watch part 5 on the BBCi player.
Not sure that Torchwood exactly counts as a bad thing, but it didn't precisely improve my mood.
I took a bunch of stuff (mugs, a bowl, a plate with a dragon on) along to the annual Arts and Crafts Exhibition in the village hall, but none of it sold. And though they assured me they had tons of visitors, I doubt that was true. The exhibition was very sparse this year, and I suspect most of the people who take the trouble to look around are (like me) actually exhibitors. As usual, most of it was paintings of which the perpetrators are very proud. Anyway, waste of time (plus I had to go and collect it in a hurry about ten minutes from the end of TW ep 5, which did not greatly improve my temper).
Good things that happened today: I found some fabulous pictures to use for future
severalplums challenges, Bun made raspberry muffins, and Boy informed me, when I prodded him on the subject, that he had got Firsts in all his first-year exams except one. Not bad.

Date: 2009-07-11 09:34 pm (UTC)I've watch all the way up to 4. I'm dreading 5. I'm hoping it doesn't confirm the ending of 4. If so, then I will very {:'(
Really? How's the economy over there? Not say there's got to be something wrong, but it just made me curious.
Children are awesome.
btw, you link to dreamwidth instead of livejournal for your comm.

Date: 2009-07-11 09:49 pm (UTC)Economy's a bit grim, though there seems to be a greater tendency to bring it up on American-based forums I read than on British ones.
My brats are pleasing to me, at the moment!

Date: 2009-07-12 01:58 am (UTC)The recession here is crazy. There were three clothing stores I've ask if they were hiring and they said no. However, there were only like three people trying to maintain this huge store. And every time I go by there, all different times, it's only three people. It's very sad. :(
Mine is as well. He's just a sweety. :)

Date: 2009-07-12 05:34 pm (UTC)I suppose the differences may be epic or at least significant, but I'll take Domino's over Papa John's anytime. Every time.
well, unless the Domino's was full of veggies and the Papa John's was meat lovers' or something, but then I'd probably just Not Have Pizza. :p
