If you have access to PBS/NOVA documentaries (US public broadcasting), there's a really sweet documentary on prosthetics for non-human animals (including a pony, an alligator, dogs, I forget who else but it's adorables). There is a certain amount of problematic film-work of the sort that seems to be employed whenever prosthetics are featured like, "You have a face but we are just going to focus on the prosthetic for this entire shot even though that's what we did last shot!" Mostly, though, it's pretty awesome. Also so are the vets who make prosthetics for animals. Oh, and I forgot! There's a pig named Chris P. Bacon who uses a wheelchair.
