I haven't yet figured out how I'm going to deal with having two journals. For the moment, stuff will be cross-posted to both. If I ever again manage to write a story I'll probably direct all comments to one place for that. At present my practise is to read DW circle posts first, but I can't see myself abandoning LJ for a long while yet, if at all. (All else aside, it's prettier!)
Very interesting post on Amazonfail here.
My brats cooked moussaka for supper on Wednesday, and did it very well. They were quite impressed with themselves, indeed, and will have to copy the recipe to take back to college. Both have now sorted out where they are to live next year, though Bun is a little disappointed with her house, as it's rather further from the university than she'd hoped to be. She was messed around by various of the people she'd hoped to share with, several of whom made rather belated decisions to group elsewhere. Oh well. At least Norwich is cheaper than Bristol—or, at least, they are getting more for the same rent, both of them will be living in a house instead of a flat.
I've decided not to participate in the summer show after all—too tired and lethargic. I couldn't be bothered to figure out a solo item to audition, and I don't particularly want to do just the chorus medleys anyway. I'll be helping with the sketches and general organisation, inevitably. After some surprisingly good auditions last week we do, definitely, have a Show. Phew. Now all I need to do is find a director for the next one, and settle on an MD.
And get set up for next Monday's glass-painting demo, and paint some samples, and check my supplies, and such. Ack. There seem to be many things queuing up for my time. I'm too lazy for this. Also it's providing me with good excuses not to write anything, not that I need excuses as I seem to be unable to sit in front of a keyboard and produce so much as a sentence of fiction. Help!
Dragon Challenge soon.
My Boy just came in to announce that a bird had flown straight into his window, there were now feathers all over the lawn, and it looked as though the bird was still alive. Well, not quite. On closer inspection it turned out that the alive bird has a handsome curved beak. It picked up the pigeon remnants and flew off with them. I don't think we've ever had a bird of prey in the back garden before! And yes, there are feathers all over the grass.

YAY for the dragon challenge. I haven't done it recently, or written any popslash since Bitty Bang. *gasp*

Date: 2009-04-17 03:11 pm (UTC)Moussaka - greek dish, not unlike lasagne but with fried aubergine slices instead of pasta, and a lovely eggy cheese sauce that puffs up.
Hope you have an inkling of a dragon story in mind (or dwarves, or dolphins, or... something else)!

Date: 2009-04-17 09:27 pm (UTC)The moussaka was very good. Minced lamb browned with onion and garlic, and simmered with red wine, tomato puree, cinnamon and chopped parsley; squeezed and fried-in-olive-oil aubergines; cheese sauce, and a topping of grated cheese to give it a yummy crust when it was all put together and baked. Trouble is, it takes a while to prepare and not very long at all to eat!
