My knitting group gave me a going-away present today! They'd made up a blanket from squares knitted by each of the members (though sadly, they're not labelled by knitter). Also a card with lots of lovely messages. *Aww*

Brief excitement when we got a phone call to say that the lowest people on our house-buying chain (Messrs Godot, I suspect) have given their deposit money to their solicitor. Great woe when we heard from another source that we're now talking about a completion date a month away. This is such an interminable process. *So* tiresome.

Perhaps this means I will finish writing my dragon challenge story? Hmm.

Urgh. We've been negotiating moving days, which seems to have resulted so far in us not getting the *one* thing we've been stipulating since the beginning, and that means we get to pay an extra 10% on our removal expenses. *not happy*

Weirdly, we discovered just yesterday that there is an extra link in the chain leading to our sale—a complete surprise. Somebody downstream of our buyer is on holiday for a fortnight *now* (!), and somebody is insisting we must move on a Friday. Grrr.

It's so annoying to have this dragging on—we've been ready to exchange contracts for quite a while now. I veer between wanting to just do it and get it over with, and indignation at what we're being asked to put up with now!
