pensnestBack from the convention - and my chorus won a prize! Not first place, that is way too far in the stratosphere for us, but we got a prize for Most Improved Choir (and our director got an accompanying award). *Much* rejoicing, and champagne at dinner.
It's an interesting experience, a barbershop weekend. It seems to be a very intense, enclosed little world. Not everybody wants to participate by immersing herself in barbershop, and I don't think I'll ever be that dedicated to it, but nonetheless it is very interesting and there was a lot of excellent singing and some pretty impressive showmanship, too.
And it is rather nice to be able to sing four part harmonies on the coach home.
