Feb. 6th, 2016 09:23 pmI had a day without internet yesterday.
Mostly, by necessity. We had the electrician in to replace the ancient fuseboard with something a bit more acceptable, which meant the power was off for most of the day. I actually read a book*! That's two, recently, the other one being The Martian, so I'm doing well. Anyway, after we'd had supper I thought I would refrain from firing up my computer, in the vain hope that not watching the screen might help me to sleep. (Alas, insomnia struck again.)
And now I am weary. Perhaps I should seize the moment and try going to bed.

Date: 2016-02-06 10:23 pm (UTC)More srsly, in re screens and sleeping, have you met f.lux? It's a program that dims/yellows the light of your monitor as it gets later (you can set things like when you get up, and where you are so it knows when sunset is, and so forth) and means you're not doing the equivalent of staring into a 100W bulb before bedtime.
