We met the Brats last night for a nice dinner, than Bun, Beast and I went to see Urinetown, which was pretty much exactly the kind of musical you'd expect it to be, based on the name. We enjoyed it very much (though it was rather loud—in a tiny little theatre, is it really too much to expect a professional touring group to be able to PROJECT instead of being miked?). At one point, one of the characters noted that as he is also The Narrator, there's no way he's going to be killed off. Bun and I looked at each other in a Meaningful Way at that point. There were lots of other references to musicals, most notably Les Mis, and probably some we haven't seen, which was fun.

But ugh, everything is miked these days. Often quite unnecessarily.
