I am pleased to announce that my FIL no longer has giant boxes of dirt in the entrance to his home. We have dug out all the soil and dismantled the boxes, and I have swept (and swept and swept, and also mopped) all the stray dirt out, and have put some chairs and tables out, and covered the tables and shelf with cheerful checked yellow fabric, and it looks like a welcoming place where a person might sit, of an evening, and admire the sunset. (I'm not entirely sure a seated person would be able to *see* the sunset, due to the size of the front hedge, but that is not my problem.) We also managed to roll up the transparent blinds (for the first time ever), which involved several goes at rolling them up and finding they wouldn't budge, and then having to unscrew wooden battens which were put there to keep everything well secured so that it did not blow about. And rescrew the battens afterwards. I got quite warm. However, a job well done.

It's still sunny and warm, though there are clouds today and we're due for rain and dropping temperatures after Thursday.

Time to do some weeding.

Time and place, indeed! It definitely comes under the category of "It's your house, do as you like, but if you want to sell it, do as your daughter in law tells you other people like'.

YAY!! Glad the boxes of dirt are gone (I must admit, I envisioned cardboard boxes of dirt in a hallway. IDEK).

Yeah. Not quite that bad, although I wouldn't entirely have put it past him! However, it is now most definitely improved.
