Day 3
In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
Bake some cakes! Norwich is a City of Cake, as far as I am concerned, and in addition I have been watching the GBBO and am unexpectedly excited at the thought of baking. Of course, this does also mean eating more cake than is entirely good for me, but I should be able to distribute it among family members. FIL is quite partial to cake. Perhaps… one every four weeks?
More knitting. Its time I used one of the yummy yarns to make a really pretty shawl, but I also want to do better about being in advance for Christmas, which means more hats, scarves and mittens. And I really want to make a Viking helmet with attached beard. Someone will be really happy to receive a Viking helmet with beard, I am sure. Besides which, I shall need to spend as much time alone as I can managed, while I am sharing so little space with not one but two Robinson males. Retreating somewhere quiet to knit and listen to podfic seems like a good plan.
I seem to have lost confidence in the novel I was planning, but I would very much like to take a proper look at it and try it out.
Ideally, I will write The Wallow and finish The Chronicles of Lancyn and Ser Chrisfer (only two stories to go). Hmm.
I would like to read a book every week, though it doesn't have to be a new one. I have been out of the habit of reading books for far too long. In comparison to my formative reading habits, a book a week is pitiful. I remember being stopped for a survey on "how many books do you read in a year?" in which the highest category was something like 'twenty or more', which just made me laugh in disbelief, that being closer to my weekly score than an annual figure. But not of late.

Date: 2017-01-03 10:30 pm (UTC)ALL the knitting!! But yes, retreating somewhere quiet to knit and listen to something interesting sounds like a great way to keep your equilibrium.
In any case, good luck with all your goals!

Date: 2017-01-04 09:30 am (UTC)They also do amazing lemon meringue things... But I would take a Cupcakes & Co brownie over Macarons & More. Their lemon blondies are also incredible.
