I have to admit, I lump the American 'administration' in with the corporates, as it's hard to distinguish a meaningful difference (although surely some of those mega-corporations must have competent management?).

The more I see things going down, the more I believe in this thing I heard once where someone was talking about what happens with promotions: you do a great job, so you're promoted, and this happens until you get promoted to a position where you're in way over your head and don't know shit about what's going on. It seems to be universal.

I'm not sure even that applies to Donald Trump. There's precious little evidence that he was ever good at any job, even though he managed to get promoted anyway. What a mess.

Oh, no, definitely not. I meant mostly in general, since the more I have to deal with even people in charge of my town, I wonder how horribly incompetent everyone is. It's not like I would do a better job, but I still wish people who knew what they were doing got chosen instead. And that much does apply to this whole Trump situation. What a mess covers it well.
