I seem to have got into the habit of composing posts in my head and calling it done.

Since my last post… we have brought all our furniture back into the house. Yes, the 'summerhouse' is empty at last, ready for FIL to fill it with, er, whatever. She said, politely. As yet, the pictures have not yet been hung anywhere except the hall (where there were already hooks in place), butI've amused myself with sorting a bunch of family pix into a random arrangement for a rogues gallery on the landing. My computer is still in the dressing room—soon to be sent downstairs to the sitting room and replaced by my yarn stash and sewing box.

Beast has constructed, essentially, a pale greenish cream sideboard with glass doors out of discarded kitchen cupboards, into which will go the china that is older than I am. (My parents bought it in Hong Kong, and it's both beautiful and not dishwasher safe, so it doesn't see a lot of use even when it isn't enwrapped in several hundredweight of packing paper.) So the craft stuff is mostly hidden in the solid sideboards. Things are looking almost respectable!

Sadly, I must report that the chorus's Christmas concert posters are going to be one of the traditional designs. Sigh. I haven't actually made it to rehearsals since Camp, as my cold, which recedes during the day (allowing me to cart furniture across the garden, for example), comes back in gale force during the evenings. I have spent much of the last half hour trying to exhale a lung.

Oh, yeah, and we got a letter from the surveyor's insurance people saying they are about to send us a cheque for two thirds of the money the Ombudsman says we're entitled to. Which is cheering.

Since I'm so bad at reading DW on any kind of organized manner (hoping to change that) I've just come by yours and caught up on things. Congratulations on the new kitchen! And I hope neither one of you caught my case of the blerghs (in addition to your cold, which I hope goes away very quickly!).

Also I much enjoyed the Avengers bit of the Superhero Medley! :D

Also just as a sidenote, I really like how I can practically hear you saying all the things you write. It's almost like being in the same room! Hee.

That is a lot of good news in one post!

Hopefully the summerhouse won't be filled with bags.

I love your respectful yet dismissive use of the word 'whatever'. Understated shade is the best kind of shade. :)

The new sideboard sounds lovely, and getting to show off the pretty china without having to wash it all sounds like a win too!

The display sideboard sounds lovely!

How boring of your chorus. I hope your cold is better by now.

Money, yay!

I seem to have got into the habit of composing posts in my head and calling it done. 40 million times this :).

The house sounds delightful - and excellently coming together - I hope you do, too, your cold sounds entirely miserable.
