Fluffy is keen to explore the kitchen, and unfortunately was left in there on her own when my bro-in-law did not realise she had sneaked in.

Beast found teeth-marks in the butter.

We have just started letting Fluffy out into the back garden, and I was quite surprised at how wary she was about going through the door. She hugs the side of the house and then shoots straight back inside. Ah well, early days.

Princess Fluffykins has started weeing on the carpet. No idea what set this off, as they have both been impeccable about using the litter tray otherwise. We've put auxiliary litter trays on top of the worst affected bit of carpet, as well as soaking it in biological washing liquid, and both cats have used all the available litter trays, but the problem seems to be persisting. Anyone have any suggestions?

I also bought a puzzle board for the cats to earn their treats, to which they are very partial. Fluffy is particularly determined to extract treats, though she has not yet figured out how to get them out of bowls—at least, she uses her paw but hasn't quite managed to hoik out a treat yet. Sable got the hang of pulling treats out of the various arrays very quickly, but cannot deal with the bowls at all. Needs longer tongue.

Today, I left the treat packet by the telly instead of putting it back on its shelf. It is now shredded, and empty.

Unexplained peeing on the carpet is always worth a vet visit, in case there's a biological cause. If she has a problem that makes peeing painful then she'll learn to avoid places where she's experienced the pain (i.e. the litter trays).

We've used some stuff called 'Simple Solution' which is really good at getting rid of the smell and stains.

Hopefully it isn't the cat litter putting her off!

you know, I've never found teeth-marks in the butter. cool modern art sculptures, sure. those appear all the damn time if I forget and leave it on the table where it's accessible

I've an old school glass butter dish and if I forget and leave the lid off, the stick is therefore exposed to kitty's tongue. and the consequent licking can provide quite the artistic effect if I'm not paying attention to what's going on on my kitchen table

The teeth marks in the butter are hilarious!

I wonder if it could have something to do with you letting her going outside? Maybe she's feeling uncertain and feels like she needs to mark her territory in some way?

Such clever kitties you have! Going straight to the source instead of mucking about with puzzles :-)

Yikes, I hope the peeing situation resolves itself soon! Sounds like they are quite feisty in general though.
