Let's go for a walk, Beast said yesterday afternoon, so we did, and discovered a little bridge over the railway which led to a nature reserve, mostly marsh, and quite a bit of river and lake which we shall explore in more detail another day.

I used to live five minutes' drive from the M1. Now I live twenty minutes' walk from a nature reserve.

Today, we went to see Deadpool 2. It was utter bilge.

nature reserves FTW! that's definitely a more appealing destination

I've not run across much commentary on Deadpool 2 yet - is it at least entertaining bilge?

Weeeeeell, about a third of the way through I thought, I don't care what happens to any of these characters, and about two-thirds of the way through I thought, am I actually going to sit right through to the end of this film?

I'd say about three minutes of amusement in two hours.

I keep discovering new and fun things to do either hereabouts or within a wider area of Norfolk. Plenty to keep my visitors entertained! You must certainly visit again!

Norfolk is Very Flat, but there's a lot of cool stuff hereabouts. And rivers! I grew up, essentially, in Bedford, which has a splendid river, so I feel any proper town ought to have a river through the middle. Hemel had... not much, and a canal. Norwich has *two* rivers. And The Broads, hereabouts.

You certainly will! There's so much to see here. We even have an airport, which connects daily to Schiphol...

Unfortunately I am not currently all that well connected to Schiphol at this end. However, for future reference, what would be a good time of the year to visit your town? And what is the closest train station?

There seems to be Stuff Happening pretty much all the time in Norwich. It looks lovely at the moment, because a sunny May is about optimum for anywhere in England. In the summer (alternate years) there are trails for pop-up statues - two years ago they were dragons, this year is hares. The rivers are pretty.

There are quite a few nice manors around, but they are more likely to be closed over the winter—a couple of them advertise bluebells in April and rhododendrons in May... Really, whenever you like! (Though I'm regularly away for the last weekend of October.)

Norwich has its own resplendent Victorian railway station, but the route meanders a bit whether you come via Liverpool Street or King's Cross. I think the journey is doable from Stansted, too, but I don't know whether you get to fly in to Stansted these days!

What an excellent discovery!

I saw D2 and actually enjoyed it a lot. I even thought one scene had more emotional impact than all of the end scenes of Avengers. Not that I've found anyone else that shares that opinion.

I just didn't connect with any of the characters on the screen, and got so very bored with the incessant Action. I'm beginning to despise Action!

Ah! I can totally see you feeling that way, though. I admit, I enjoyed D1 more, but the blatant disregard for reasonable and non stop unapologetic action and destruction has it's appeal in these Cheeto-in-Charge times.

I liked D2, and agree there are some emotional moments. can't compare them to Infinity War, as I've yet to see that. [oops?]
