This is what greeted us when we came back from the gym. Princess Fluffykins, mighty hunter and pigeon-murderer, was very smug. Sable had a feather in her mouth.

It took about 20 minutes to clean up the feathers!

When I walked through the door, I stood and gaped in astonishment for quite a while! It was a *lot* of feathers. Also blood.

It always amazes me how many feathers can come from one bird.

And most of them were fluffy, downy feathers, not the long stiff ones. I wonder what shape the rest of the pigeon was in when Grandpa nobly took it from the cat and threw it outside!

I'm impressed! Pigeons aren't exactly small birds.

I do think I prefer having a cat like Lancecat though. He usually fails even at catching butterflies :-)

It must have been quite an achievement to get it through the cat flap!

I suppose her addiction to chasing a feathery ball, and her adroitness in catching it, were A Clue to this kind of thing. Sigh.

She brought a dead vole in today, and tossed it about quite a lot, but it was far less to deal with than the feathers!
