Let me brighten your day
Sep. 3rd, 2018 04:57 pmA few weeks ago I did some browsing back through my journal—I think I was looking for something in particular, but cannot remember what.
I did find, and made special note of, the following, with an unsurprising emphasis on the crack:
Inauguration Day in January 2009. I could weep.
I see your penguins and raise you a couch. (I bet many of you can parse this just fine.)
Woe that the "his wife? A horse" link no longer works, because wow, that was something.
https://pensnest.dreamwidth.org/396552.html A post about the fact that the Lava Lamp Story was on AO3. Read the comments, if you need cheering up. And have nerves of steel.
I also found a nice little meme which appeals to me, most especially because the world at the moment seems to have such ominous skies. It would be nice to cheer people up a bittie.
So, I would very much like to brighten your day! If you would like a little surprise of some kind to brighten your day, please say so in comments, ideally with your postal address. What you get might be a postcard or a small gift or a new userpic or even (if I can remember how to write) a story; whatever it is, I hope it will make you smile. Please do sign up, even if we don't know each other very well—the act of giving will cheer me up at least as much as receiving will cheer you up.

So how about this for a mini-meme: check back through your own journal and post five things that you'd like to re-share.

Do the 'let me brighten your day' thing. I'm pretty sure we could all do with cheering up.
Comments are screened (but I'll unscreen the ones which don't have addresses in).

Date: 2018-09-03 04:10 pm (UTC)When Photobucket went all 'you must pay to third party host content' earlier this year/late last year I tried to save as much as I could from my albums, sadly I couldn't get everything, but I did get these.
You're welcome!
