There is Too Much Barbershop in my life! OMG.
Last week: Sunday - all-day mixed chorus rehearsal; Monday - quartet rehearsal; Tuesday - quartet shopping for outfits, followed blessedly by knitting group who Did Not Sing; Wednesday - trying to get posters, banners and other stationery finished (too much Photoshopping, as well), followed by phone call with local magazine wanting info on chorus (yay!); Thursday - dentist, okay, not actually Barbershop-related, and I skipped chorus; Friday finally got InDesign and Photoshop work done and delivered stuff to printer; Saturday - into London for the day for LABBS council meeting.
Today, after spending the entire morning producing newsletter for chorus, time spent vegging in front of crap TV. \o/ (And also taking FIL to Sainsburys for ibuprofen as he has toothache.)
Tomorrow we have a mixed chorus section rehearsal here, *and* I have a quartet rehearsal, uh, somewhere. The trouble is that we can't stop, because we are scheduled for singouts. Mixed chorus is to debut on 8th December, and my quartet has three singouts booked by our rather overenthusiastic business manager bass. I wonder if I can rest during February? I do hope so!

Some interesting stuff:
The Enterprise, writ extra large.
A list of fake news stories about the EU. I recently managed to disabuse a friend of the idea that the EU prevents us growing King Edward potatoes in the UK. We had a warmly-felt but gently expressed discussion of Why Brexit Is Evil (me) and Why We Should Be On Our Own (her, natch), so I was pleased to be able to go home and extract from my cupboard a bag of King Edwards from Lincolnshire. Must mention to her that the newer bag of Teddies come from Norfolk.
Metafilter discussion of menopause with quite a lot of interesting and useful links. Worth a read unless you are way past all that.
Right. Bedtime.

Date: 2018-11-27 09:46 pm (UTC)Personally, I rather like it when we (ie chorus, or a subset thereof) burst into unexpected song in restaurants, but I'm not entirely sure how the other patrons feel about it!
I have not yet tried to lure the other knitters into singing...
