Cosmo Brown

I suppose this one ties into my sidekick kink, in that I was never anywhere near as interested in Don Lockwood as in Cosmo Brown. Who was, besides, far more My Type, being not at all the Hollywood Handsome kind of guy. Donald O'Connor was awesome. Years later I was delighted to see him in 'Out to Sea', a film I only acquired because Brent Spiner was in it. Though Mr O'Connor did not have nearly enough dancing to do.

Anyway. turlough made this, and it captures an indefinably wonderful expression of readiness/gotcha/glee/something that I love.

I've become acquainted fairly recently with the awesomeness that is Black Sails, and this is one of the many icons I found when I went looking. It seems to capture the ambiguous-ness (not the ambiguity!) of the character, and I don't use it often, probably because I don't make smart enough posts.

Excellent icons. I heard so many people talk about Black Sails and thought I'd love it, but couldn't get into it. Though I suspect it was a timing thing more than anything, so maybe I'll give it another go at some point.

as I had a 'classical music only' period that lasted about 15 years when younger, I'm pretty familiar with names and a lot of their music - no expert, for sure, but I do know what I like

I found it hard to get started with Black Sails, it is a bit bloody and grim at first. If you can persevere as far as season two, suddenly all is glorious. I haven't done a re-watch, but I'm assured that once you know where the whole thing goes, season one is a much more satisfying thing.

I was really lucky and found the most amazing screencaps to work from when I was making that Singing in the Rain icon set. And it's all sperrywink's fault I made so many Cosmo icons - he's her favourite :-)

That Alan Cumming icon is awesome! He's got the best wicked face!
